Page 1: The Star

The Star

You hear a riff on a familiar nursery rhyme play in the background, on loop.

twinkle twinkle, glows THE STAR.
i wonder how much you are.
"are" is 9, and "tea" is 6,
how many lights, must we mix?

Illuminated question mark for The Star puzzle

Hint 1

Why are only two words capitalized in the rhyme ("THE STAR")? Should you be looking out for these letters anywhere?

Hint 2

"Are" and "tea" mean the letters, "R" and "T". Can you find at least one of those anywhere in the cafe?

Hint 3

There are marquee-style lights for "HEX" and "STAY & PLAY" in the front room of Hex & Company.

Hint 4

The letter "T" has 6 lightbulbs. Can you apply this logic to other letters in "THE STAR"? (Keeping in mind that R = 9).

Hint 5 (Solution)

If you add up all the lightbulbs in each letter of "THE STAR", this equals 62. There is no "R" lamp, but we know that R = 9 from the rhyme.
